HOST TEAM WEBSITE
Tennessee Aquatics is hosting the meet and will post info on their Meet Page.  Here is a link.  This is especially relevant during the meet, as results, etc, will probably be there, but I will not have time to repost them to our website.

2020 Tennessee State High School Championship Time Standards

There were no changes in the time standards from 2019.
"B" times are the minimum standard to compete in the State Meet.  If you get the B cut you are eligible to go.
"A" times are standards agreed on by the athletic directors in our Region as the criteria for providing school funding for the trip.

Divers qualify by competing successfully in three meets, at least one of which must be an 11-dive meet.

We have reserved rooms at the Hampton Inn - Knoxville Airport (Alcoa) for parents who may be interested in staying with the team at the Tennessee State Championship Meet in Knoxville.  We have some doubles and some kings available on a first come-first served basis. The cost is $95 per night plus tax.  The rooms are being held under the "Science Hill Swim Team Parents" block.
In order to claim one of the rooms, you must call the hotel (865-983-1101) and guarantee your room with your credit card. The deadline to reserve a room is January 19, 2020.

Immediate Communication Method

While Twitter has been somewhat effective in relaying timely information to team members, I have come across an app that I believe is more conducive to getting hold of people via the platform (text and/or email) which they prefer.  The app is called "Remind" and it is used primarily in schools.  However, it meets our needs very well.  The upside is that you do not have to actually download the app!  The coaches have downloaded it - All you have to do is tell the app by which method (email and/or text) you would like to receive messages.

Please note that the coaches will only use the app to send out messages.  While the app does support conversations between the coach and recipients, we will not use this feature.  Swimmers and divers are also welcome to sign up so that they get messages sent directly to them.  If a child is under 13 years old, a parent will be notified and will have to sign up also.  That age threshold security is a requirement of the app designer.

How it works:

"Classes" are set up by the user (coaches).  People can then join the classes via text or email (or both) and then will receive any notices posted on your phone or in your inbox.  Please note that we will still be posting pertinent information on the website. We will not be duplicating everything!

The "class" for my notices to the Science Hill Swimming and Diving Team is SHHS Swim & Dive
